In effort to increase opportunities for our students, Clovis Unified School District will be applying for the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Program grant for fiscal year 2014-2015. The grant is federally funded and all applicants must apply to the California Department of Education. The 21st CCLC was established by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001. Each school district receives funds according to their Title I funding for low-income students. The objective of the grant is to provide local flexibility in establishment or expansion of local learning centers that provide students with academic assistance and enrichment opportunities. Activities are designed correlating to the regular core program, supporting students with literacy and related educational development services for families of participating students, and providing a safe atmosphere for all participants. Currently Clovis Unified School District does not receive 21st CCLC funding, however, we are applying for the grant in hopes of offering more program during the beginning of 2014-2015 school year. If you have questions or concerns, please contact your school sites for more information.

Program Improvement: Parent Choice
Miramonte Elementary School has been identified as a Year One program Improvement School for the 2013-2014 school year. Once a school has been identified, the district is required to provide students attending this school site with the option of transferring to another school within the district that is not identified for improvement. the district must provide or pay for transportation to the new school to and from their school of residence within certain budgetary restrictions. When a student is transferred to another school, he/she may remain in that school through its highest grade. Parent/Guardians received an informational letter and a "School Choice" Application in August 2012 at the start of the school year. Additional applications are available in our school office. the following Non-Program Improvement schools have been designated as Cole Elementary School and Pinedale Elementary School. If you have questions please give the office a call @ 327.7400.
